about

Original recording of The Great Green Nothing,
This tune was rerecorded by The Villains on 'Alive at the Colch!' (2010). Originally meant to be part 1 of a 3 part song (The song City of Cards from 'The History of Sex' album was meant to be part 2.)
First song to feature Andrea Stratton on background vocals.
This song started as a completely random drum recording that I layered instrumentation over.

lyrics

The stars align like road signs but the radio still played nothing new
I danced till 10 when I was 12
I wish you could've been there too
Over your shoulder
Off in the Distance
I wrote a song in a past life and called it the great green nothing
Your chasing everything but it won't be the same then you're alone
The night falls, the day breaks
I can still hear an echo, the paint under the gesso
I can still hear an echo, the paint under the gesso
Ever get the feeling you've been cheated was the greatest line
I guess I don't understand with my small town mind
