Johnny's in the basement mixing up the medicine. I'm on the pavement thinking about the government. Under streetlights in the avenues I've got nothing to lose. Under streetlights in the avenues I've got nothing to lose. I've got nothing to lose.

Basically its evolution Ignorant of paths we're choosing Those who shape the future shouldn't be Boxed into our private worlds Supporting things that we don't know could be supporting everything we hate Experiences seem dishonest I don't have what TV promised I'm a product of my time I'm a product of my time Minds all pointed to the West we share collective ignorance (our egocentric view disguised as progress) Nations kill for Gods and greed, Earth is stripped and left no seed It starts with socially constructed needs Experiences seem dishonest No one has what TV promises We're the products of our time We're the products of our time

The stars align like road signs but the radio still played nothing new I danced till 10 when I was 12 I wish you could've been there too Over your shoulder Off in the Distance I wrote a song in a past life and called it the great green nothing Your chasing everything but it won't be the same then you're alone The night falls, the day breaks I can still hear an echo, the paint under the gesso I can still hear an echo, the paint under the gesso Ever get the feeling you've been cheated was the greatest line I guess I don't understand with my small town mind

So smooth so smooth so smooth.... etc
5.
Living in a ditch behind a rich man's kitchen No eyes for seeing no hearts that's beating I left my neighborhood I couldn't tell bad from good Its always there until its gone Countless moons but no clover Started a maze and I can't start over Paddling Tom's Canoe Things I never thought were true They never come until they do Memories only last so long When will all of hers be gone You're always right until you're wrong

Dance and laugh and play. Ignore the message we convey. It seems we're only here to entertain. A rebellion cut-to-fit. I refuse to be the soundtrack to it. While we entertain we're still knee-deep in shit. There's something wrong inside. We've played it safe, enjoyed the ride. You won't like this but I've something to confide. We stand for something more than a faded sticker on a skateboard. Now we've rained on your parade and we're out the door. And I don't even care any fucking more. Witness this pair in accomplice. Witness this pair; lethargic, unconscious. No brows furrowed in question, complacent, completing their tasks (no questions asked) Consider this critic a cretin, Just resting on laurels completely invented. Word acrobatics performed with both harness and net. I am so full of shit. But I will remain until this self-awareness fades Until I defeat the purpose of this soapbox that you made. That you made. Hope, perseverance, a vision (some doubt). Green ink, a 26 oz., a bad case of big-mouth. A sum of our parts and I've never laughed harder. A song in our hearts and I've never laughed harder. It don't really matter 'cause nothing's ever felt as right as this. (by the way, I stole this riff)

Its ok. Its alright. It just takes time.

about

Released in a limited run during the Harvesting the FAM Festival in 2006. This album is a collection of solo material that James created between 'The Invisible Album' (2006) and 'The History of Sex' (2008). Features the original versions of some of The Villains staple songs. Lo-fi and dirty, as it should be.
